Baker Street Recordings [BSD008]

BSD008For their first release of 2010 Baker Street and Paul Hardy are set to turn more heads as they team up with Jay Shepheard, the London/Berlin based house, techno and disco producer most famed for his releases on German super label Compost.  He also has remixes for Buzzin Fly, Four:Twenty and Dirt Crew to his name.  Shepheard, who has been nominated for a Beatport 'Best Deep House Act' award in his time, turns in three deep, flowing remixes of 'Dust' to complement Hardy's techier original take.  The additional original track 'Factory' ploughs a deep furrow with techy touches.

S Groove: Dust is a monster of a tune! Could really see that destroying the dancefloor. Such a simple groove but it really works well...the siren type synths are really effective and perfectly done! And who better to have remixing than Jay Shepheard. Factory is also very tasty, maybe more of a build up track, really slick production tho! This is def the best promo ive recieved in a while! 5 stars
Andy Riley (Inland Knights): the bonus mix for me is the jam, def the one which would find its way into IKs sets.

Our House Mag Review...
One of last year's standout labels deliver another absolute belter. Paul Hardy really is starting to impress now - his two original tracks couldn't be more different and highlight the quality of his work. 'Factory' follows a deep course, slowly building and sweeping you away on a wave of warm-yet-techy pads, before teasing with stabs that may just have been influenced by Claude Vonstroke's 'Who's Afraid of Detroit'. 'Dust', by contrast, is a techy, moody, growling beast.  Jay Shepheard grabs hold of it for three remixes which take the release in another direction, as warm flowing grooves are complemented by delicious keys and rolling beats on his 'Remix' and 'Dub'.  His 'Bonus Mix' treads a more choppy path. 5/5
